Janneke Erkelens

Janneke qualified from Utrecht University (Netherlands) in 1996 having attained a Diploma in Veterinary Medicine (DVM). Janneke has dedicated her career to focusing on livestock, farm planning and consultancy work. She has worked in establishments such as the Royal Veterinary College where she has been actively involved in the teaching of students as well as commercial farm practice. Whilst in practice Janneke has also attained her official veterinarian status in large animal panels and this has allowed her to perform important disease surveillance work with livestock. Janneke lives in Hertfordshire with her husband Stephen and her three boys, two dogs and backyard chickens. She has a keen interest in pottery and design and creates some beautifully crafted items.

Lauran Hammond

Lauran qualified from the Royal Veterinary College in 2006 having attained a Bachelor in Veterinary Medicine.  Lauran entered into mixed practice in East Sussex working with farm animals, small animals and equines.  During her 2 years in Sussex she gained much experience including lots of out of hours emergency work.  Also whilst in mixed practice she attained her official veterinarian status in small and large animal panels and this allowed her to spend a period working with DEFRA in the local disease control centre in the foot and mouth outbreak of 2007.  Lauran then moved to Hertfordshire in 2008 and worked as a mixed practitioner in Essex building close working relationships with clients and developing a keen interest in large animal and equine work before setting up her own practice in 2011. Lauran has an excellent reputation with her clients and is known for her professional but approachable, calm and personable manner in all aspects of her practice. Lauran lives in Hertfordshire with her husband James, their two dogs and Welsummer chickens.  In her spare time she enjoys walking the dogs and everything the countryside has to offer, swimming and baking cakes.

Hannah Underhill

Hannah qualified from the Royal Veterinary College in 2018 having attained a Bachelor in Veterinary Medicine. Prior to embarking on her degree program Hannah grew up in the Southwest spending lots of time on farm and in the equine industry. During this time, she achieved her instructor qualifications. She then focused on breaking in and bringing on her own horse to compete regularly with British Dressage at Medium Level, whilst training another horse to Advanced. During her studies at he Royal Veterinary College she completed research focusing on Cushing’s Disease (Par Pituitary Intermedia Dysfunction) in the older horse and further research on treatment and diagnosis of Overriding Dorsal Spinous Processes. Hannah is a keen outdoors lady who enjoys hiking and skiing and lives in Hertfordshire with her two cats.

Victoria Fox

Victoria is our office manager taking care of all our administrative needs.  She is an organised and efficient individual who enjoys problem solving.  She has worked in the travel industry prior to running her own smallholding.  Victoria lives in Hertfordshire with her husband Nick and their two children along with their dogs, cats, sheep flock, chickens, geese and many more! She enjoys exercising her horses and teaching the children to ride.

Matthew Hammond

Matthew runs his own IT Consultancy Company, MJH Studios and is our IT guru who fixes all the technical challenges we throw at him. He carries out remote and on site work to assist with our practice running smoothly and has an approachable and understandable rapport with his clients.

Sam is our office PA who keeps all our vets coordinated during their working day. Sam is a personable, efficient and organised individual who loves a challenge. Sam has worked in the human nursing industry as a Community Nurse as well as animal nursing before joining us here at Hammond Vets. Sam lives in North West Essex with her husband Paul and her twin daughters. She enjoys riding her Irish Draught horse and taking part in dressage competitions as well as walking her two spaniels and her Chocolate Labrador in the countryside.
